Good News!

We had a great report last week on Ashley's progress with her feet! Yay!!! Our persistence is paying off! On another note, this was waiting for me as the wallpaper on our computer the other day

Reflections

I was working on Ashley's baby book this week and came across a few of her sonogram pictures..  It made be think about how far we've come already in our journey. It was one year ago this month, that we found out the incredibly scary, and shocking news that our unborn baby girl had bilateral clubfoot. As I've mentioned before, I'd never even heard of it before....

I've come to learn that the doctors put so much fear in me (us) over something that has really been "manageable." I also HATE the information that is out there on the internet. I drove myself insane looking at the information about clubfoot. Serioulsy, google clubfoot and see what you get. It isn't information that screams "manageable." It really makes me want to do something about it....

We have our first follow-up appointment since we were released from the 24/7 bracing on Wednesday, so again I'm feeling some of that fear and anticipation creeping back again. But, if I put it in perspective, even if we have a set-back, we can MANAGE! :)

My Cousin Chandler

My cousin Chandler is a senior in highschool and will be graduating in just a few weeks. I can not belive that he is already 18! Chandler is a great athlete!!! We got to see him play  in a rugby game against Allen. Man.. I've never seen a rugby game before...... those kids are tough! It really is like a full contact football game, minus all of the padding and helments. I was impressed!

Also, Chandler and his family just found out that he was awarded a substanital, guaranteed 4-year scholarship to play rugby in West Virginia at Wheeling Jesuit University. Apparently, he is the first (or one of the first), to recieve an "actual" rugby scholarship. We are so proud of you Chandler!!!

13.1 !

I did it! I ran the Rock & Roll Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on Sunday, March 25! It was really hot that day, mid 70's, which doesn't seem that hot, but it IS when you are running that many miles. Madi & I took the DART train downtown to the start of the race at City Hall and finished at Fair Park. It was a lot of fun and I was proud to reach my goal of running another half marathon in the first year after Ashley was born! AND... I got a new PR... 2 Hours 6 Minutes!!

Sprinting to the Finish Line

7 Months Old

Our Missy girl is 7 months old! She is so close to crawling... she's scooting backwards right now, but she is SOOO close. It is time to baby proof!!

6 Month Appointment

We went for our 6 month check-up with Ashley's pediatrician, Dr. Moshier last week. We had a great report!
Here are her stats:
25 inches (25th percentile)
15 lbs (50th percentile)
75th percentile in head circumference.... She's smart! :)

We've had a really mild winter this year, and we've been taking walks in our jogging stroller to the park almost every weekend.
