Well, we are exactly one week away from Ashley's 1st birthday! Wow! I remember so vividly what I felt like last year at this point... HOT, HUGE and READY to have a baby!
So, we've been enjoying watching the summer Olympics for a few weeks now, so good scores are all over the TV. This week, we had the BEST score possible. We went to The Scottish Rite Hospital for our routine every 3 month check-up, and Miss Ashley got a 0! I know that sounds strange, but a zero is the best possible news that we can hope for when we go there. Clubfoot is rated on a scale of 0-20 (20 worst case). When Ashley was born, she was rated a 16, which in the range of "most severe" for clubfoot severity. When she finished her casting, she was at a 0, which is the plan. However, it is common for partial recurrence, which is why we go for a check-up every 3 months to make sure that if there is a relapse, we can act quickly with further treatment. So, long story short, this is one time in her life, that we were VERY HAPPY when she got a ZERO! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's a picture of her on our way out holding her birthday present from her nurse. THANK YOU, THANK YOU Scottish Rite Hospital for making our girl a zero! :)
