Happy 2nd Birthday

It's very hard to believe, but our girls is 2 years old. How is that possible?? The past 2 years have gone by so fast!! Ashley is learning so many new words and has such a cute and sassy personality. What a blessing our missy is to our lives!

We had a small party, luau style for her birthday. We had a great time celebrating with family and friends!

Our Journey Continues

As we are one week away from Ashley's 2nd Birthday, we will be going to Scottish Rite for Ashley's 2 year check-up in 1 week, which will be D-day for continuing bracing or "release day." I made this video as a reminder for us, our family and Ashley one day, to never for get the journey that we all went through to treat Ashley's clubfoot. I remember it like yesterday when I was given the news by my OB/GYN... It was shockingly scary news and I thought I would never be able to handle what was coming our way. I prayed so many times that God would take care of us and he certainly did. Thank you for our precious girl.

Homemade Cream of Mushroom Soup

We have been determined to stop eating canned soup and pre-made seasoning packets because they are LOADED with sodium and thousands of ingredients that you can't pronounce. I made this a few days ago for a casserole and it was actually really good!

Homemade Cream of Mushroom Soup
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
3 Tablespoons butter
1/4 cup organic corn starch
4 cups milk, divided
1 teaspoon sea salt
pepper to taste

This recipe will make around three cans worth of cream soup. I haven’t done it before, but I would imagine you could substitute celery for the mushrooms to make cream of celery soup instead. If you have extra soup that you don’t need, this can be frozen.

Word Explosion!

Our Missy girl is less than a month away from her 2nd birthday and.. HOLD ON... I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT she is going to be 2 already. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? Anyways, she is almost 2 and over the last few days, her vocabulary has exploded! She is talking about "things" in context, and it's sometimes funny to hear her talking. She is also definitely in the TERRIBLE 2's already. I think it's because she knows what she wants but just can't quite articulate everything to us yet. All I know, is she is very stubborn and we are going to have our hands full!!! But, she is the BEST thing that ever happened to us and we love her to pieces.
